2007-08 | Driving a Design Identity

CIA Teaching:
3rd Year ID Studio (3cr - FA), 4th Year ID Studio (3cr - FA), 4th Year ID Studio (6cr - SP), 5th Year ID Studio (3cr - SP), ECC release.
Partnered with Little Tikes for a sponsored project focused on play & executive function. Invited Andrea Buchanan, author of ‘The Daring Book for Girls’ to the final review.
Held the Design Language Final Review at a downtown Cleveland loft and invited the design director of Continuum in Boston.

CIA Service:
Planned the Design Studio clean-up and set-up.
Defined distinct projects/experience for junior product and transportation (to add portfolio depth for transportation).
Secured Johnson Controls sponsored project (funded).
Secured a donation from Chrysler for a 3D printer.
Organized a visit by Andrea Buchanan, author of ‘The Daring Book for Girls’ to the final Little Tikes review.
Initiated space planning explorations for the new campus to helped me gain an understanding of issues relating to the JMC and proposed new design.
Worked as part of the faculty/student team on the HUMVEE redesign project (my time billed to the project was used to offset the costs of my salary, not taken as a stipend).
Met with Senator Sherrod Brown, who reviewed the HUMVEE Project progress.
Delivered the NAC HUMVEE Project (full-size prototype, extensive slide deck and animations). An NAC director said ‘we used to giving universities millions of dollars and they come back with stacks of paper, what you and your team has done is remarkable.’
Helped launch Design Lab Early College High School in conjunction with the CMSD and Tri-C. This include CIA faculty & students supporting DL-ECHS (pictured).
Participated in Open Houses/Accepted Student Events.
Organized events around the Auto Show (exhibit & symposium), began to collaborate with Admissions to make this a recruitment event.
Assisted with Spring Design Show planning & promotion. Moved show to the Joseph McCullough Center.

Ongoing collaboration with Ned Hill (CSU) on the development of the District of Design economic development initiative.
Collaborated with Scott Richardson on a design for a new Beck Center Site & Lakewood Common (Oct 2007).
Co-creation, planning and ongoing support for Design Lab Early College High School as part of the Cleveland Metropolitan School District.
Traveled throughout Sweden recruiting companies for the District of Design.
Member, Art Selection Committee, Lakewood (OH) Public Library (06-present).
