Completed as part of the m.power project in 2023-2024. The project requires students to develop a product in the Fall and launch a crowd-funding campaign in the Spring. The student conducts in-depth research, broadly explores ideas and completes a final design that is focused on market viability and production. Over the course of the project, students deal with intellectual property issues, work with factories to refine their designs, understand costs and negotiate quantities, and build a marketing effort intended to raise awareness. This project was completed over 30 weeks. Cordy's campaign was not successfully funded, but she understood the immense value of thinking about a college design project in a very real-world context.
