CIA Teaching:
2nd Year ID Studio (3cr - FA), 3rd Year ID Studio (3cr - FA), 3rd Year ID Studio (6cr - SP), 4th Year ID Studio (3cr - SP), Transportation (3cr - FA)

CIA Service:
Planned the Design Studio clean-up and set-up.
Building a relationship with Diebold, which resulted in a $48K funded project in 2011-12.
Designing and seeking funding for the Hive Workstation which will meet current/future needs and creates potential for alternative revenue for the college (pictured).
Helped plan a CIA exhibition at the NASA Glenn Center. Our presence was part of a transportation-oriented technology transfer event that was intended to highlight Northeast Ohio resources for an international audience.
Helped organize a presentation to students by Emily Lai, a Hong Kong-based alum.
Presented the Institute’s design capabilities to Rep. Marcy Kaptur, who was touring CIA.
Helped organize a CIA workshop for the CMA Ambassadors Program. The program brings top regional high school students to the art museum for specialized event. The workshop teamed CIA design students with the Ambassadors in a two-hour design event intended to expose them to basic design process and problem solving.
Facilitated CIA meetings with Hathaway Brown Head Master Bill Christ intended to build programing with CIA.
Facilitated a meeting between CIA and Beachwood Schools leadership. The meeting was to discuss both CIA and Beachwood Schools building projects.
Participated in Open Houses/Accepted Student Events.
Facilitated interaction between CIA students and the CWRU think[box], including hiring and planning the future think[box] space.
Facilitated a relationship with Stryker Instruments (medical), which will lead to future funded projects.
Organized a presentation to Swagelok to highlight CIA design capabilities and lay the groundwork for future funding.
Organized events around the Auto Show (exhibit & symposium) and collaborated with Admissions to make this a recruitment event.
Assisted with Spring Design Show planning & promotion. Show held at the CWRU Weatherhead School of Management to foster collaboration between CIA and WSOM students. Added a business school-funded business plan competition to promote engagement and a speaker series (Christine Enderby of Ziba and Adam Carmichael of Saks)

Committees: Academic Technology Governance, Admissions Faculty Advisory, Communication Design Faculty Search. Also participated in the Group A Strategic Planning meetings.

Professional:
Participated in the CIA Faculty Exhibition.
Ongoing PhD work in Management (Information Systems) at the Weatherhead School of Management.
Lectured, CWRU School of Law (Kurk Karakul) – innovation, IP, development law (07-12)
Lectured, CWRU School of Engineering (Gary Wnek) – product development (07-12)
Initiated three design explorations; V80 Pitcher (involved leading-edge CAD and rapid prototyping), Tuner Phone (frame/component ecosystem to create highly customized mobile device hardware) and e:scape (modular landscaping surface/system).
Design Consulting working included an expert witness in a patent litigation case and advising Lenovo and Moen.
Completed the final design of the Hive Workstation - unveiled at CIA (Jan 2012) and CIA committed to purchasing 32 units (supported by the Cleveland Foundation).
Formed Abeo Design LLC to manage the production and sale of the Hive Workstation.
Member of the Viktor Schreckengost Foundation Board.
Consulted Edinboro College faculty who are part of a Erie PA development program.
Consulted Frank Lewis of Ohio City Writers on the design of a writing center based on the 826 National Model.
Advisor, Case Western Reserve University Weatherhead School of Management ‘Manage by Designing’ Program.

A team of students developed a product (Nesl) and launched a successful Kickstarter Campaign.
Hosted party for graduating ID students.
