CIA Teaching:
Discovery Elective (3cr - FA), 2nd Year ID Studio (3cr - FA), 4th Year ID Studio (3cr - FA), 3rd Year ID Studio (6cr - SP), 4th Year ID Studio (3cr - SP).
Requested to transfer my chair course release to Doug Paige to allow him to focus on Spring Design Show planning and other activities that would benefit the college.
Implemented version 1 of the m.power project, which I developed during my sabbatical. The project involves developing a product in the Fall and launching a crowdfunding campaign in the Spring. This project creates and immersive holistic experience intended to prepare the student for leadership.
For the Discovery Elective developed a comprehensive series of in-depth exercises, demonstrations and lectures intended to increase engagement and reinforce design thinking among 1st year students.
During the Junior Design Language Project, invited Livio Melo and Jennifer Jacobsson, the co-founders of a Bronx-based outdoor goods brand to participate in the process. Livio and Jennifer are both immigrants with diverse backgrounds and a global perspective.
Developed (designed and assembled) The Industrial Design Mobile Prototype Lab, resulting in a surge of iterative making among ID students.
Invited Robert Maschke, the Sauder Furniture Team & Mandisa Gosa to the Furniture Final.

CIA Service:
Planned the Design Studio clean-up and set-up.
Helped plan and participated in the first Nunes Scholar orientation.
Met with multiple prospective students and their families, in addition to facilitating multiple shadowing experiences.
Participated in a series of meetings with the Distinc_ team (Summer & Fall).
Created my first TikTok intended to bring attention to industrial design & CIA (Summer).
Worked with institutional advancement to engage with the GM and Stellantis teams and secure project sponsorship for Fall 2023 and Spring 2024.
Recruited Gojo/Purell to sponsor a Spring 2023 Design Center (funded) project.
Participated in donor meetings at the request of institutional advancement.
Provide content for Kathryn to participate in the Shaker Schools Design Days.
Participated in Open Houses/Accepted Student Events.
Met with Guenter Nyanankpe of the National Automotive Center – the NAC develops vehicle specifications for the US Army. My meetings were focused on reestablishing the relationship and securing future project sponsorship.
Relaunched the Auto Show Exhibit and invited Ryan Nagode to discuss the Ram Revolution with ID students.Assisted with Spring Design Show planning & promotion.

Committees: IML Advisory, IDEA Council, Interior Architecture Faculty Search (chair).

Professional:
Participated in the CIA Faculty Exhibition.
Designed the ‘And this is what I do…’ exhibition (Mar 2023) with the gallery team and spoke at Lunch on Friday (pictured) as part of my post sabbatical activities.
Lectured, CWRU Design History Course (Professor Henry Adams). These lectures led to one Case student transferring to CIA.
Developed products for DAP (part of RPM International).
Developed the nCamp Retail Display and lunched the nCamp Carabiner Cup.
Began experimenting with generative AI to understand limitations and opportunities.
Lectured, CWRU Biomedical Engineering Students (Matt Williams) – Ergonomics & Interfaces.
Attended the Designexplorr opening of Dr. Jucinda Walkers’ new studio, which is focused on broadening representation in design fields.

Misc:
International Housewares Competition Awards – Charlotte Brittain (3rd Place - $1,000).
IDSA Merit Award Winner - Emberlynn Miao.
Designed & fabricated the Design Studio Death Star Experience for CAB Halloween.
